2025 National Collegiate Public Speaking Contest

The 2025 National Collegiate Public Speaking Contest (NCPSC) is about to kick off. It’s another season for students to compete and to win fabulous prizes.
The contest has been organized since 2005 by Foundation for Leadership & Education Development (Fled Foundation).
The contest seeks to promote the art of constructive public speaking among youths who are future leaders, as well as build their confidence and expand their knowledge on current national and global development issues.
The 2025 Contest is organized as part of events to mark the 30th Anniversary of Fled Group Africa, which Fled Foundation is a member.
Category A: Undergraduate Students
Category B: Senior Secondary School Students.
Participation Guideline
You have to apply early to enable you pick your topic and begin preparations early.
The following guidelines are to be observed:
- Select topics from the list attached. Topics may also be re-framed or rewarded.
 - Please read up on everything they can on their topics. You are permitted to receive assistance to prepare. Topics are to be treated from any point of view, including a problem requiring a solution, an issue deserving public knowledge; etc.
 - During the Contest, each speaker will speak for five (5) minutes with extra three (3) minutes to respond to questions.
 - You must submit a typed copy of your speech to the organizers latest two weeks to the date of the contest.

Grading Criteria
- Students will be scored on a 10-point grading:
 - Eloquence, Coherence of Speech, Composure, Body Language, Depth of research, Voice Carriage, Elocution, Delivery Style and Timeliness. Students are not to memorize their speech.
 - Ultimately, the three highest scores will emerge as 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners, in each category.

Undergraduates:
Ist Prize – N300, 000
2nd Prize – N200, 000
3rd Prize – N150, 000
There will be N20,000 consolatory prizes for each of the next best five students.
Secondary School Students:
Ist Prize – N250, 000
2nd Prize – N150, 000
3rd Prize – N100, 000
There will be N20,000 consolatory prizes for each of the next best five students.
All participating students will receive a high-quality certificate of participation.

Pre-contest Online Training
The fee includes a 2-day online training on The Art of Public Speaking for all registered Students in the two categories on the dates listed below.
Only those who attend the training will be admitted to participate in the contest.
